aj brown has been writing stories for as long as she can remember... from the days of manual typewriters, to Apple II Plus, and onward to modern technology that finally keeps up with her imagination. She graduated from San Francisco State University a long long time ago with a degree in English and a concentration in Creative Writing, fully expecting to spend her life crafting stories for children, and leaving a legacy of written works in her wake.
Life, however, had other plans.
What began as a temporary detour into the corporate world became a decades‑long career in client service, education, training, and leadership. She worked her way from assistant, to client service, to corporate trainer, eventually becoming a Director of Learning and Development. She loved helping people learn and grow, but somewhere along the way, the creative spark that once defined her drifted quietly into the background. Each step forward toward corporate success brought her one step further away from the hopes and dreams of her younger self.
Growing older and finding herself in a season of clarity, comfort, and renewed possibility, she realized she was finally ready to return to what she’d set aside. It was time to take the leap, and see what adventures await out there in the writing world.

The Moment That Sparked Chronwelle
Chronwelle began not with a grand plan, but with a box of old papers discovered during spring cleaning. Inside was a time capsule of a younger voice: poems, short stories, writing assignments, all printed on dusty, aged, and curling pages from a dot-matrix printer. Reading them felt like meeting her past self again—hopeful, imaginative, and unfiltered.
One piece stopped her cold: a poem called Father Time, written for a college assignment where the professor instructed students to write a complete story in one sitting, without editing. It opened with:
“The Father of Time awaked on the dawn of creation morn…”
The original poem was raw, full of youthful angst and commentary on the world’s injustices—racism, political unrest, environmental destruction. It wasn’t a children’s story at all. But the core idea tugged at her: a weary Father Time, deeply disappointed by the world he shaped, destroys his creation and walks away, heartbroken.
Sitting on the floor with those old pages and a more mature view of life, she found herself asking new questions:
What if crushing the earth wasn’t the end of the story?
Who would offer him support in his frustration?
How would this experience affect his wife, Mother Nature?
Who would their children be? (Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Space… the elements themselves, of course!)
How could this family work together to save the Earth in the end?
And just like that, the spark caught fire.
She began writing again—joyfully, relentlessly. Six weeks later, she had seven books drafted, and the Chronwelle Chronicles were born. Full circle from that original assignment that started it all... write without stopping until the full story is told.
